Ano Nuevo! (with a squiggly line above the n in Ano)- Happy New Year!
Nothing exciting here. The 3 of us cooked our first dinner after having hauled home some pretty heavy canned goods from the store, Mini Super, which is quite far away. Dinner was canned tomatoes, and fried zucchini on a baked potato with canned tuna on the side. Not Marlin Bill's, but some protein hit the spot. Our groceries had run low.
Energy filled, we cleaned up, and played a game of 5 kings, a game Crazy Old Aunt gave me. FUN. Have you played it?
We heard some music that Erroll thought might be coming from Cafe de Paris, which is very close to us. Turned out it was at Marlin Bill's. I didn't want to take the kids into the bar atmosphere, so we wandered around a bit, listening to the echoing sound of the entertainer who is pretty good at Jack Johnson, Bob Marley and even some Neil Diamond for us oldies. We could hear it pretty clearly from our house too, so Erroll and Cubsay played what's that artist? Oh, and on the way home we found both Cafe de Paris' pool and ours. The former is lit at night but ours isn't. We could use the hotel one (Cafe de Paris is a hotel, bakery, restaurant and internet cafe) if we bought a pop. Ours is just a stone's throw between some of Craig's houses and under a thick tunnel of palms.
We miss Sunshine. Read his email and found out the ones I'd sent didn't go. See? Slow slow. I resent and hope you see we've been thinking lots about you. Hey, you could hit the comment button on this blog, Hon, and tell me publicly what you need to if there are any more hitches with email.
We read more emails from home and had a few minutes of home-thoughts. It is far away. Love it here, but it's not home nor the people ours.
Have I said that I'm quite enchanted with the place? It's hard to get going here. The heat's oppressive, everything takes 4 X as long to do, the beach calls, even tho it's so much hotter, and just sitting seems the right thing to do. We discussed that soon (I'm not sure when Jessica will want to meet) we'll have to get ourselves on a schedule. There's still going to be time for water play and relaxation, but school work will have to start, and so will the
