Home from Sheri's

The heat has hit me too hard. The sweat that has poured off of me since 11 (it now being 3) and the fact that I'm cooking to the core, contribute to the sick feeling when we have to once again get on the school bus for the ride home.

We're the minority here. Some school kids get on here and there, presumably at the end of their day. I watch the similarities to the kids on the school bus I drove for 5 years. They poke fun, laugh, but seem respectful of each other at the same time.

After the long, hot, bumpy, noisy (squeaks and groans of the bus), dusty ride, we all pile into the pool for some refreshing play. I want to sit and nurse my head and think about all the sites I saw on the way back. The houses are different, the yard set-ups are different, the prevalence of chickens is notable, the people's clothing is much like our people's clothing (how the heck does anyone wear white here??) but to the people's faces and hands, there's an obvious worn look to the even slightly older. They are ready to smile, and shy at the same time. Much to process.

Hey, Thelma! thank you for reading. Also, for wanting to post. Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you, I've been using up much of my little battery time trying to get pictures onto the blog.

I'm not sure if the possibility to post comments is only open to those who have an account, or if you can do it. Hopefully, Kathy can show you, as she's done it.

If you see at the bottom of each post "post a comment", then put your curser over that and click. In the box on the right, type your message and make sure you click the box that says "Email follow-up comments to..." so that you get an email when I respond.

Hope all is well. Believe it or not, I sort of miss cool weather (not cold, mind you!)
