Sit or run?/ Lazy or industrious?

The act of quiet introspection is considered a luxury by some. In fact, it can be considered lazy, or having "too much time on their hands".  With the past year's (or so) mudslide economy, this has been the case for too many. There's loads of activity online exemplifying this; marketing tips and tricks, blogging how-tos, how to have a presence on twitter etc. etc. etc. ad nauseam.

Thing is, when one is listening to the quiet hum of one's laptop, whilst still in their jammies, sipping a cuppa, the world is whizzing by, going somewhere around 1000 miles/hour. Now there's a juxtaposition. The mind is moving and turning and checking and flipping from one tab to the next; twitter- check,  fb-check, blog-check, DOW-check, email-check, check, check, check. And the body sits.

Industry, shmindustry. I'd like to hear who's unplugged, been on a walk, lately, gone bowling, relearned how to throw a frisbe, learned a new yummy yoga move? Go. Be free. Discuss (when you get back).

Love this! It will be my bloggers mantra!

Engaging with the world in real life experiences is the best way to generate relevant, interesting content for your life and your blog!

I went for a walk this morning, and I work at the PC for 15 mins, then take a ten minute break outside in the garden. Oh yes and I also waste time on the internet! LOL. just off for a 15 minute work session!

Hey Blu, Balance! I love it. My body LOVES walking...and my mind still wants to check the interwebs, so I let it. Only after doing something. Today it was yoga and potting up some baby tomato seedlings:)

Thanks, Jan! Hope you're well this morning. You are so right, one feeds the other. Move or become atrophied, and boring, write to rejuvenate.
btw, I love that I have created someone's mantra!

Bike to and from work. Walk on the leg grounds at lunch. Sunday turned and watered compost, swept backyard debris away, planted sunflowers.

You rock, Paul! So, do you do all that stuff with breaks on the computer, or do you slave away and then binge?
Since we're braggin' as far back as the weekend... I cleaned out part of the big flower bed in front, did some yoga, some awesome art therapy, partook in a good ol' Nova Scotian kitchen part (played the spoons and sang good ol' tunes) and participated in a drum circle. Too pooped to sit long on the computer Sunday night.
