YOUTH ART CLASSES Home School and After School at The Paint Spot
Instructor Margot Soltice 
Margot is an Edmonton-born and raised and has been largely a self-taught artist. Spending summers residing at Pigeon Lake was a huge contributor to Margot's creativity, and remains her inspiration today. Margot's work is multi-faceted. She enjoys playing with a variety of different mediums including watercolour, pen and ink, acrylic, mosaics, printmaking, clay sculpting and multimedia. HOME SCHOOL CLASSES

Ages 12-18, Thursdays 1:30 PM- 3:30 PM
AFTER SCHOOL CLASS
All ages, Thursdays 4 PM – 6 PM (Please send a nutritious snack)

Term 2: Winter 2012 THURSDAYS January 12-26 and February 2-16
In the second term of art classes, children will expand on concepts learned in the first term while creating imaginative projects using textiles and sculpting methods.
Jan 12 Batik: this project will be carried over into other classes due to fabric drying times. Age appropriate materials used to interpret a poem into a visual story.
Jan 19 Paper mache: this project will be carried over into other classes due to paper mache drying times. Construct paper mache on a form to be later used as a canvas for a landscape
Jan 26 Soap sculpting: natural forms 
Feb 2 Wire sculpture: creating 3D from 2D  using wire.
Feb 9 Chalk Pastel drawing: on black paper- Student’s choice of subject, learning colour, shading, and mood
Feb16 Found object printing on paper Beautiful art materials and advice to inspire creativity!
Supply List: (20% Paint Spot student discount) Hard cover, coil sketchbook with heavy paper 3B and 3H pencils Eraser, white or kneaded
